This Part of my site has been created in worship of the great Imperial storm troopers and is to give info on them and possibly other armed Imperials <g>. Much of this info has been extracted from The SWRPG revised Imperial source book.
Storm trooper
These are the most common troopers who serve in all neutral atmosphere planets and on board the Imperial ships, sharing the position with the black clad Naval troopers. Their most common tactic however is blitzkrieg land raids on targets which can't be neutralised from space. Stormtrooper armour consists of an 18 piece anti blaster cocoon shell which is worn over a two piece black body glove which helps to control temperature. The helmet contains a mouth operated com-link breathing filters which also link up to the back pack which contains 20 minutes of oxygen in case the troopers are subjected to an atmosphere with little or no oxygen. Stormtroopers are all isued a standard heavy blaster rifle and wear a utility belt which controls specialized survival quipment, concentrated rations, emergy power cells and a spare comlink.
SandTrooper
The sandtroopers are specialized branch of the regular stormtrooper legions who work exclusively on desert worlds e.g. Tatooine. Their armour looks much the same as the regulars except they have elongated right shoulder pads which are painted red and their armour has several built in special features. Like regulars they were an 18 piece blast proof armour and their helmets work much the same way although their breathing filters are more advanced and in their utility belt they have a more long range com link and they have extra water packs. Sand troopers carry concussion grenade launchers. Their body gloves are exactly the same as those worn by the regular troopers.
Snowtrooper
The Imperial Snowtroopers are a specialist unit of the Imperial military trained to work in below zero temperatures e.g. Hoth. Snow troopers wear a lightweight armour which provides little protection against blaster fire although the specialized armour suit does provide much more warmth to the wearer, allowing him to move normally as if on a neutral planet. Below their armour, although it does not show they wear the customary black temperature control body glove. As Snowtroopers will often be moving around barren waste land with no markers to follow they have a hi tech sensor system built into their helmets. In their uitility belts they carry several flares, several concussion grenades, a below freezing temp. survial kit and several blaster packs. Their back packs contain an energy source, environment unit and a computer storage pack. Snowtrooper rations are very different to the others in that the food they carry is all ready to eat instantly, with no heating etc. required. Also they carry no water unless the planet they are on's water supplies are poisoned in some way.
